The Pedal Hacking Workshop will provide an hands-on learning environment to build, modify, and hack "guitar pedals", or any similar sound processing devices.

  • Modify - interest has been raised in group buying parts for mods from Monte Allums[1]
  • Build - provide environment for building and testing pedals
    • Erich will be building a TS808 tube screamer [2]

When

  • September 19

Where

  • Baltimore Node!

Who

  • Organizing - Matthew Forr, Erich Steiger

How

  • use eventbrite to limit # of participants
  • $20 donation to register for event
  • free for members (makes sense?)

Preparation

  • nail down date
  • register event with eventbrite - http://www.eventbrite.com/event/416665257
  • flyers
  • tables
  • surge strips
  • 10 soldering irons
  • 5 spools soldering wick
  • 10 soldering iron stands
  • some sponges (and access to water - or a container w/ water)
  • first aid kit (heh)
  • I will probably buy and bring materials for PCB etching, since I will probably be building a pedal from scratch (a tube screamer clone) Update - not using PCB etching --Erich Steiger
