Things to fill the Space

Some things I'm willing to donate flat out. However, with regards to some tools, I would be willing to let them live there, be used, accept some inevitable level of theft and disappearance, but eventually take them with me in the event I moved away. -Jonlesser 00:18, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Giving Stuff to Node

Two ways to give physical materials to the Node.

1. Donations
2. Loans

Donations

Unconditional offer of physical materials. "Here it is, feel free to do whatever you like with it."

Split into more categories (stolen from HacDC's proposed property policy):

1. A tool for use. " - These items are donated with the intent that they be used in their current or repaired state. Tool items should not be scavenged. If a tool item is to be discarded, some attempt should be made to contact its donor and see if they want it back. Example: a belt sander that should not be made into a power tool race car.
2. An item for the store. "Sell" - These items are donated to be sold with the proceeds benefiting Baltimore Node. The donor should attempt to indicate value. Node Members and guests are encouraged to buy these items.
3. Material for scavenging. "Scavenge" - It looks like a tool or piece of equipment, but really it's a box of parts. Everything defaults to scavenge unless otherwise specified. Example: a belt sander that should be made into a power tool race car.
4. Raw Materials - Things that are only useful if they are made into other things.
5. Discard - Why you leave it here? Too lazy to find a dumpster?

Loans

Conditional offer of the temporary use of a specific thing. "Here it is, I'll be wantin' it back, so take care of it."

Limited to tools for use. Should not leave the space.
